    Re: Review and opinions

The negative press on the Bird never really bothered me. Although there is plenty to complain about with the Tbird, it would appear this guy just cut and pasted a review about a different car. We've discussed many of the shortcomings over and over but this critic seems to have just made some up:

The ‘Bird's foot well leaves no spot for the left foot to rest,.

      Re: Review and opinions

I've only owned my bird since May and just finished a great summer enjoying every mile I've driven and every minute hanging out with new friends and T-Bird enthusiasts all over New England...but I am amazed at how many negetive comments I have heard about the car...even at car shows...anyway it all doesn't really matter much because no other car I have ever driven has turned so many heads...

Any article that uses words like algorithm and conundrum followed by a Whittier quote rates a AAA as far as I am concerned. Who needs facts anyway. Of course I don't want to part with my bird in spite of the serious flaws he found that I never noticed. To each his own.

Were they all talking about our cars? Me I think our cars look like an older model Corvette, quite stylish. Fools, they're just jealous they don't have one.

Who would write a review on "My 2003 tester with 25K miles in Mountain Shadow Gray looked like no other car on the road. In a good way."?

Geesh...i think I'll go get my grandmom's pedal operated Singer and write a review for a sewing magazine...

It appears to be just another "rice rocket lover", these people have nothing good to say about anything made in this country. I don't think the Bird is the perfect car, unlike all of those Honda's, Toyota's, Mazda, Suzuki and all of those other jap crap brands that most auto critics seem to just love. And from the response he received, lots of lame brains (read sheep) out there that take him at his word. Redhedsmom got it right (Fools thery're just jealous they don't have on.

                    Re: Review and opinions

                    Hi there,

It would have been interesting to know what some of them guys drive to have such a negative opinion on the retro bird.

Personally, I agree that the initial price was a little high but I bought our 2003 with 20.000 miles for $20,000, roughly half price. I have had it now almost 11 months and it still looks and drives like a new car.

I liked the style of it ever since it first came out and the main reason, it has a look of it's own and
I like the fact that it's not like a typical Ford. I have had people mistaking ours for a Bentley!!?, an Aston Martin and a Ferrari. These are folks who obviously are not well up on cars but it still makes you feel good.

I like how it performs and handles for a touring type of car.

I'll be keeping and enjoying this one for a long time to come.

                    Gordon.

                      Re: Review and opinions

The commentary is clearly written by people who were attracted to our Birds but simply couldn't afford one. Sour grapes by a want a be.

Funny thing is all I hear is how gorgeous the car is.....and I agree. I would buy it all over again. I still remember how pumped I was when I found the Cashmere and yes my dealership let me test drive her.

If he had to complain that there was no left foot rest and the arm rest was too high , he must be a short little guy with a Napoleon Complex.

The Truth about Cars is actually a pretty darn good site for reading up on cars. Use them for "Entertainment purposes only", but there is a lot of truth about the things they say. I have used them to check out the Saturn Sky, and they were dead on with most of their criticism... but some of the nits were forgivable if you really liked the car. I did read the review of the T-bird before I bought. And as was already stated, most of the "haters" were due to the price point of the cars back when new.
