I was at Wixom back in 2002 a couple of times and still have the two I got. I remember standing beside a bucket full of them they were giving out. Should have grabbed a handfull!
We saw the award in the display cabinate too, I wonder who has it now?? Steve???
Was there only one? I ask because I know who has one, but I'm not saying! Confirmation will have to come from the member
If you're referring to me, Sally, no, I don't have the 2002 MTCOTY award. I'm sure that Ford kept that one! I've attached 2 photos of it taken while we were at Wixom.
However, I seem to have acquired one produced in 1989, apparently as a sales promo or something within Ford. The 3rd picture is that one - about 1/2 the size of the real thing.
NUMBER twelve if still available...Had to be car of the year...maybe even the decade...The other day I was driving my son back to Temple University and right on Broad St. in morning rush hour I was stopped at a RED light. A guy signal to me to put my window down...I did so (even though this is one of the TOUGHEST parts of town in PHILLY)..."BEAUTIFUL CAR MAN", he said. "WHAT YEAR?", he asked...."2002", I replied.... "GET OUT A TOWN" he said....."BEAUTIFUL MAN, JUST BEAUTIFUL", he continued,...I nodded thanks and drove off as the light turned green...It made my day!
I think I have a handful of these from Ford...if someone wants one...I can look...

Hey Steve, I finally got my pin through the mail. The envelope looked like it was dragged from there to here and the postal service had to put the remains of the envelope in a plastic baggie to complete the delivery. I was amazed that the pin made it intact with no damage. Thanks
