Next time I get a call on Ext. Warr. I feel like screwing with them and ask for one on my 82 LeBaron, just to see what they would do.

They give your car a inspection first and then give you a price. I would think with the low miles you might get a pretty good deal. It's worth a try. Independent warranties are different. You pay the full bill and send it to them and then they send you a check for what they say your warranty covers. Some of them are just Scams. Leroy
I just got my onwers manual from Helm and it included a warranty guide... it looks like you can get a Ford Extended Service Plan (Ford ESP). It says you can go to Ford to purchase it or go to the website at Ford-ESP.com. It says there are several plans to choose from to tailor to fit your driving needs, including reimbursement for towing and rentals. Hope this helps.

Martin, a 1982 Chrysler LeBaron was the only car I owned that I was very thankful I had an extended warranty on.

I bought that car used in 1987 and bought a warranty from the dealership for 12 months or 12,000 miles. Any car that I've owned and maintained since new I've never had that many issues with.

From my understanding the Ford Company backed extended warranty (ESP) can only be bought while the original warranty is still active. There are others though that have mentioned a Ford Certified warranty which your dealer may have available.

I remembered you saying that you had a problem one. I have had this one since I got it from my parents in 87 and have had very few problems other than normal wear and age problems. Motor has never been touched but that 2.6L either worked or it didn't, just hope the TBird goes on trouble free.
