Ron, honestly, I don't like the painted flaps. Now they look too much like they are a part of the car, which changes the whole body look and design that we all love. I don't want the flaps to stand out on my car, I prefer much more that they remain black and quietly blend in next to the black tires, versus painting them thunderbird blue and blending into the body design of the car. jmho

You can also buy the 3M clear bra protection materials for the lower fenders and rocker panels. I just bought the parts and labor from a guy on Ebay. $160 or so for a BMW, bumper, hood, front fenders, rocker panels, lower sides of fenders, and mirrors.

This material has a 5 year warranty (parts and labor); everything I have heard about the 3M product is good. No, I am not a 3M salesman or related to this product, this guy, etc.
