Hi all! Was wondering if anyone could offer advice as to whether the 2005 50th anniversary T-bird always came with the V8 emblem or not? Are there any words of caution as to how one might check whether a "50th anniversary" model is authentic, on a prospective buy?

Re: V-8 Emblem on 2005
Lindy, the '05's did not come with V-8 emblems. All '05's have the "50th Anniversary" blade/saber on the front fenders, but only the Cashmere is the special limited numbered edition. I have one of each - '05 Bronze & Cashmere. I have V-8 emblems on both - aftermarket add-ons.sigpic

Re: V-8 Emblem on 2005
Lindy, here is a webpage to check the vin # on one - it's specific to the 02-05 Thunderbird:

Also check my 2005 pages for what came on the 05s. Certain colors were specific to the 05 years such as med. steel blue, cashmere (the special edition color), Inca Gold, and Bronze. It will not be often that you find an 05 that's been repainted another color yet so colors are still a good indicator.
As said above, no V8 emblem was on the 05 except on the engine itself.
i might add, the cashmere special edtion came with 50th anniversary logo embossed on the stone color seats. The interior of the cashmere is only found in the cashmere tbirds - a quick way to identify the car as an "authentic" special edition. As crmpuf says, ALL 05s are anniversary cars. With some of the colors, fewer were made than the special edition!Last edited by 5bird7; Nov 11, 2008, 03:25 PM.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64
