I have not heard of anyone doing it themselves, but as our cars age, I'm sure there will be.

I purchased the shop manual for our 2005 t-bird. I have been looking thru it on a regular basis and would not attempt ANY work on this car without it. There is nothing easy to replace or work on without this book. Almost everything that needs to be done requires steps you wouldn't think of. I recommend you find someone with this manual or request someone fax you the pages needed. I don't know much about diagnosing problems but I do know how to change parts as well as the next guy.
