You can create your own personalized plate on the DMV website and even see if it is available ( Don't know if you know about this or not ) But it's so simple. Once you find one that is available, you can order it right then and there. Waiting for it is a pain because they take FOREVER to get but it's worth it!!

      Here's the website: https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp2/welcome.do
It does take FOREVER. I waited 3 months for them to tell me I could not have CATB1RD because it is too similar. I have now waited another 2 months for my "new" choice and still don't have it. I will post when it finally arrives!

ok... I ordered my plates this morning... I narrowed it down to my fav then my back-up just in case they give me grief about my first choice. I will post it when they come in. I notice a neighbor of mine sever blocks away has a powder blue one that is a '03. I knocked on their door last night and chitty chatted and told her about TBN she never heard about it. She said that she bought her car in NH. I cringed when I saw her military post stickers on her bumper and a black scratch on the front passenger side. When I know her better... I'm going to try to help her realize that that is NOT ok and help her get it fixed HA!

Jennifer! Now that you are with the fanatics and I readily admit my own obsession we are going to have to forward you to Dot's tutorial website so you will know that Powder Blue is actually Desert Sky Blue (specialty color for 2003 only).

I will be the first to admit that I don't know the proper colors for the Birds so I do need to be schooled. I didn't even know what PCR was until I was schooled on that last week. But I do know this... I am loving my car more and more (even with it being in the shop for 2 days only after me having it for 3 weeks) and I appreciate the group here that has welcomed me so warmly with open arms

Is this type of behavior where the name Mamabird comes from?

Joe, I think it should be a requirement for anyone to join the forum is to take Dot's Colour tutorial and memorize it and pass her test. I noticed another new member just lately referred to his 02 as Aqua, boy did I get upset, just like the person who insulted the Merlot owners calling it maroon or burgandy.
Second thing everyone should be required to do is read all the COPs threads and finally, keep you sense of humor.

You're in the right spot, Jennifer - obsessive compulsive seems to be a common thread around this forum - especially when you start talking about waxing your car... or preparing it for winter weather..(ie, storing it), or naming your car, or ...

You are right, Martin ... I realized I was getting way to serious about this when I called Carmax here one day last year and insisted they revise their on-line listing from copper gold (whatever that is) to BRONZE!

I know the Internet Salesman thought I was a nut but he changed it!

I knew at least Elle (IslandTime) would back me up!

Dot's right, Jennifer and WHATEVER YOU DO don't ask if it is okay to wash your car with a automatic carwash or all h*ll will break loose!

Got that right, Joe! I cringe everytime I see a new member list their color by the wrong name. I cringe even more every time I take either Goldi or MD in for service and my service rep never lists it the same at any visit! I can understand someone looking at my Bronze and saying 'gold' - but the last time it was listed as 'cream'!

                            Well, this thread got hijacked!

Thanks for the reminder my friend, I need to run LadyBird up to the car wash in the morning.
