  • Traded My Bird in for "That" ...

I took a roadtrip to deliver the 007 Performance White to its' new owner and stopped at a rest stop on I-85 towards Charlotte to get the bugs off Suzanne and a brake dust touch up, get a drink et al. Anyway, I had the trunk open and was putting some dirty rags in a bag when I heard a vehicle pull up behind me.

It was this gentleman in his 70s who put his window down to tell me he had a raven black 55. We chit chatted for a few minutes; he told me how much he liked the retros and that Ford had returned the marque to a 2 seater; and how much he loved his and wondered what happened to it.

I asked him why he sold it and he replied with sort of a grimace ...

"Well, I traded it in for THAT ..."
    and pointed to his WIFE!

I thought, "Oh no he didn't ... and kept a straight face somehow. Needless to say she did not look amused and that ended the conversation pretty quickly after he realized what he had said.

Wouldn't you have loved to have been a fly on the ceiling of that HHR for the last leg of that trip home to Charlotte!

BTW, I will defer to the new owner to post pics and identify himself. He is a newbie member and a really nice guy even if he is a UK JayHawk fan.
