It's not the asking price that's an indicator of pricing or value, it's the selling price. Leroy

there are 3 values to cars retail ; highest price
private owner and trade in value lowest price its only worth what someone will pay

That is way overpriced. Down here 04's "pristine" (so they ALL say) range from 20-22K.

Carmax doesn't negotiate and in this particular case their asking price is a pretty good indicator. They have been doing busines like this for many years and they rarely have to lower their original on-line price.

looks to me that its a premium not a delux....i paid 21k for my 04 in july with 15k mi...price seems to be a little high

Hannah3, I know you've been trying to sell your car, I saw your listing on Ebay. If you think Carmax is inline with fair prices on T-Birds take your car in and see what they'll give you for it. I'll bet they would'nt even come close to what they're asking for the 04. Leroy

well folks it's gone. It's been an interesting story over the past few months and I'll set up a thread to give you guys the scoop. Bottom line $26.5k Although less than my origanal hope last August it's much better than I thought it would be only 2 weeks ago.
