  • Steering Wheel and Automatic Headlights

I recently purchased my 2005 Cashmere (#1071) and I can't figure out why, once in a while, the steering wheel will not adjust into its last position when the key is inserted and the automatic headlights will not come on. These two things happen at the same time. For days all is good and then all of a sudden for a day or so, the steering wheel and the lights need to be adjusted manually. Anyone know why this might be happening? Chuck

Sounds like the contact is dirty. Try blowing some canned air into the key hole.

      Chuck,
Steering wheel issue has happened to me a couple of times recently. Not only did the wheel not adjust itself when I put the key in the ignition, but the wheel would not get out of my way when I took the key out. It only happened a couple of times about a month ago and has not happened since. Don't know why. My generic answer is "electronics", wonderful when they work, expensive when they don't. I bought my '03 in April '08 with only 7,200 miles on it. I've succeeded in racking up an additional 4,000 this summer, but it's now in the garage hibernating until spring. I'm going to enjoy my bird as much as possible, the heck with saving it for someone else!
