  • Warranty

Went to Ford today to see if they would negotiate the price on an extended warranty...they wouldn't....saying insurance regulations in Florida prevented them from doing so.

So now I'll buy online. But here's my question. My online cost through Ford Warranty.com, for a 7yr/48k premium care plan is only $1,030. including a promotional $180. discount. That seems cheap. Am I missing something here? I thought it would be at least $500 more.

      Re: Warranty

I tried it online and got the same $180 off so it looks like you contacted the same person as I did (Jack). It was pretty cheap and he said he was with the Ford dealership up there in CT I think it was. Maybe that is there way of trying to get some business.

        Re: Warranty

That CT dealership has been one of the best priced, Ford warranties, for the past 4-5 years

There's a site called genuineservice.com that has the Ford Warranty and is out of CT. offering $180. off the price too but I went to Fordwarranty.com. I thought I was going thru Ford directly, not a dealership.

I thought so too and went through the same site as you. But I was wrong-it was a dealership.

Gary, Check the amount of the deductable. The lower the deductable the higher the premium. You should be able to get more than 48K miles too I think. Leroy

                Re: Warranty

one of the pricing considerations is mileage on your car. and yes, the dealers are the ones that sell the warranties for Ford. It's why you can negotiate prices.

                  Hi Gary,

Do you have the exact web site for the dealer in Conn. I am having trouble locating it. Did you have to speak to someone by phone to get that price? That is a great price!
                  Thanks,

                      Re: Warranty

I bought my extended warranty from that same dealer and it was a Ford Extended Warranty that shows up on the computer at all Ford Motor Company dealerships and has been honored many times already. I can't imagine why anyone would pay the "list" price when they can get the exact same thing on line for a discount.

                        Re: Warranty

Went online to genuineservice.com (Ford ESP) and when I entered my state of FL the site would not continue on, it just said I had to call. They quoted me a 0 deductable/6yr/36k plan at $1139. but a 7yar/48 plan was $2500. Because I live in FL athere are some kind of issues regarding state insurance regs...I guess...I'll have to do more research.

Also they said they are not a dealer and are the Ford Co in Michigan. Not sure I believe that.

Just called the other site, Fordwarrantys.com and talked to them, they're a dealer and located in CT.. Their prices are very inexpensive, especially with the $180. discount they offer.

I have my Thunderbird and Explorer under warranty from them. I have used the one on the Explorer twice at my local Ford dealership without any problems.
