  • Re: 2009 T-Bird sightings

    Elle,

I'm never quite sure about the lighter colors cars, particularly on that part of US 17/Dominion Boulevard in the afternoon, with the shadows and the over-hang from the trees, especially when I have my sunglasses on. My car right now, is turning that lovely shade of yellow/green from the ever increasing pollen count!

Don't have that color problem with Pollen in the Inca, Nikki.

On the way home from Dallas yesterday, spotted a yellow 02 on 380 just West of Denton.

Saw a TR with hardtop on Saturday while running errands locally. I think it was an 02...no front tag. We took a day drive on Sunday...must have been several classic/street rod shows in the area, but no 'Birds were sighted at all...in fact the only 2 Fords worth a second glance were a '65 Galaxie Convertible and new Mustang with a supercharger sticking out of the hood.

This AM on the way to work in the pouring rain (Thunderbird securely in the garage, Charger swimming on in to work) I saw an 02 blue with soft top parked near The Green in Morristown.

We saw a 007 model in the campground area of Texas Motor Speedway yesterday. It looked nice from a distance but that campground is one of the last places I would want to take our T-bird.

Hi, We're staying at the Confort Suites in Asheville, NC. A merlot was in the lot with an Ohio tag. Will try to meet them. We're driving our Kia Amanti. They are expecting snow here tomorrow and we didn't want to bring our bird out in the bad weather.

ok...i am searching and searching for all the Bird in my area and I talk to each one I see to make new friends here in this rainy green state. Since it was such a nice day and it FINALLY stopped raining for a day... I went to Sonic in the next town over, ordered and then I looked up there it was... a Thunderbird Blue Bird. I was so excited I went over there and parked next to them and went into the fitness place and met the proud owner - Brad. I told him all about TBN and hopefully we will see him here soon.

It was severe clear and 78 deg in Austin this afternoon so I took my first top down ride to check out my new Borlas - love that V8 sound! Saw a Red top down Bird south bound on 360 Capital of TX HWY - waved but I don't think he saw me.

I am honestly having fun with there being Very Few in my area!
The old Spring Hill, TN Saturn Plant is about 5 miles from where I live so I do see a lot of the Saturn Sports Cars (Why I dont know - one of the most Impractical cars I have ever seen?) My wife thinks they arew 'Cute' but thats about all they are -My opinion understand.
As BorlaBabe told me would happen - for sure has! Two people in the last couple of weeks have asked me "What kind of car is that" One young guy behind the counter at the local convience store ask was it a Porsche?!?!?! I told him no - it is better than that Its a FORD! Of course he looked funny and said 'NO - Are You Kidding ME'?
I Love when that happens! Understand he was probably not even in HighSchool the last time Thunderbirds were in Showrooms!
There are three Birds on Used Car lots not far from me! Two of them have 80 to 90,000 miles and priced at $18K ~~~~ The guy will probably Fire Sell them for around 12 to 14k before long!

Dallas, TX - Dr's Hospital and Professional Bldgs. Garland Rd @ Buckner Blvd

When I drove into the parking garage of Dr's Hospital today I saw the same Red Bird as many times in the past. I've left notes and cards on his windshield several times with no response. He's a Dr (or at least that's the section he parks in).

As I was leaving there was a Platinum in one of the handicapped spaces. Left a note, we'll see if the owner calls, emails or joins the Nest!

A good Tuesday morning to all,

Did anyone see 'Dancing with the Stars' last night. One of the dancers was struggling to get the feel for the jive so his partner took them out to a 1950's diner and what car did they have? - I think it was a 56 red Thunderbird with continental spare wheel kit on back. There was quite a few shots and I thought for someone like Dot who collects everything Thunderbird, this would be a good one for the collection.
