  • Re: 2009 T-Bird sightings

While cruising eastbound on 244 to Trader Joe's this afternoon, there was a Platinum Silver headed westbound, hardtop on. Cruising too fast to wave in 6-lane traffic.

Last week i was taking my cousin home in Pleasant Grove and saw a Black Bird in my rear view mirror. It "crept" up beside me at the red light and I talked with the lady driver for a minute. Couldn't believe she had several holders afixed to her dash to keep her stuff at hand!! Poor Birdie!

As I was pulling out of Judy's driveway...there went another Black Bird, a male driver with the top down!

Both sightings were within a mile or two on Bruton Rd!
I rarely see one in my neighborhood...

My son told me he saw a Red Bird in Palestine Sunday. He had to check the tags before he was sure it wasn't me!

Wednesday afternoon, May 13th, on my way to work, I happened beside a red 2002 with the top down, on Texoma Parkway in north Sherman. We exchanged glances and questioned year models until the signal changed and we had to go or be a nuisance to those behind us. We weren't able to connect at the next few intersections, but the driver took the turn lane to go by the college where I work. As we approached the college, I was able to ask the driver to follow me into the college entrance.

When we introduced ourselves, I recognized his name immediately. My wife and I had attended church with his parents and youngest sister about 30 years ago, and his dad had been our real estate agent for 2 different property transactions. I had met him once back in the 1980's, but didn't recognize him until he gave me his name. He's owned the red T-bird since it was new, and said he paid about a $6,000 premium at the time of purchase.

He said he not a member of any clubs, but sounded like he was interested in considering TBN, so I gave him one of my cards before he left. Hopefully we'll see him join in the near future. Either way, I'll make sure he knows about our next north central Texas gathering.

            Sounds good, James.

Mine was a spectator sighting. I had to stop at a Walmart on the way home and one of the employees moving carts stopped and talked for a bit. He said he had seen my bird several times before in the lot and was glad to finally meet the lady driving it.

Spotted a Red Bird as I made a protected turn in front of it on Gross Rd in Mesquite, TX . It could Tuesday. Could have been one I hadn't seen before, or either of two others a few miles from me. I did wave... but, both of our soft tops were up, so I don't know if they saw me and I sure couldn't see if the driver waved back!

My wife took the TB yesterday morning and ran errands. As I was going to my daughter's though I saw my wife and wondered why she was here? It was an '02 TB Blue just like ours. First time I've ever seen another 02 TB Blue.

To change the subject-My daughter and son-in-law are in Waco today adopting a baby boy. They have waited 3 years for a child. We're VERY excited. I'm also adopted and saw a great line about adopted children yesterday-"Natural born children are carried in a mother's womb, but adopted children are carried in a mother's heart".

Sorry to say that last night I sighted an 02 Yellow in the service department of the FORD dealer I work at. The men are doing the open hood exploratory surgery this morning. I trust she'll be fine with bed rest and a fresh tank of Hi-Test.

Deepest, warmest congratulations to you and your family on the new addition to the family. Our son is adopted as well. He's struggled with his situation over the years, because he was old enough to remember parts of his past. But as he has grown into adulthood, he has come to the realization and appreciation for the fact that our love for him is the deepest love any child could have had.

                        Hello All,

Not a bird sighting, but an owner sighting! Met Mike N. at his shop today, & knowing him to be a fellow Bird Owner, gave him a Thunderbird Nest card and invited him to join us. Hope he & his wife will take flight!

This was a sighting coming home from CBT. Julie's driving in front of me. We had been on the road for about an hour. I happened to notice a tbird catching up with us very fast. It was Bradford in his cashmere with the top down, heading for Florida. We all waved as he went on by. I noted how nice that car looked with the beige headrests rising above the body of the car - really looks good with the top down.
That was my only sighting for the rest of the drive home.

Two T-Birds in one day. Thats more than I get to see in a month. The first one was at the Dealers while I was getting the oil changed in the pickup. It is a 2004 PS with 13000 miles. Then later I was in Rosebud and spotted a IY at the same place I saw the TR last week. They didn't see me untill I honked and thet honked back.

In Aberdeen MD at a dealer today was an 04 Merlot soft top with about 24k miles. No price but nice looking wheels. First Merlot I've ever seen up close (I drove through 2 parking lots to see it).
