    Re: 2009 T-Bird sightings

I saw my first t-bird in awhile today. As I pulled up to Courtesy Ford Service Department this morning in Elizabeth City, there was a pretty Inspiration Yellow bird that was recently on their lot and sold to a gal in Chesapeake. Of course I had to make it a mini flocking and pull in next to her. I talked with the owner for a good bit and told her all about TBN and what a great group this is and the wealth of information provided. I hope she joins us.

Oh, I hope so, too, Nikki. Hope you told her about our Tidewater Chapter dinner next Sat.

I just saw a TR at Military Circle. Same one I've seen a few times before but this time it was in motion...so I honked and waved...still no reaction. I've left a card on this Bird several times...

      I'm beginning to wonder if there's a whole different Thunderbird group called "I Don't Give a D***"!

Yes ma'm Elle, I told her all about the local group and the dinner planned for next weekend. I told her about the big road trips, the wealth of information on this site and the cammraderie.

Leaving the grocery store we spotted a Whisper White in the parking lot. It looked like it had been parked a while because today has been a very misty, wet, drippy, dreary day where water builds up on everything that sits (you have to live the Pacific Northwest. We haven’t seen the sun for a month). But it was a ray of sunshine to see a T-bird out of the garage.

Gorgeous 80 degree weather today and a red bird with a red top went by to quickly to notice except for a surprisingly nice looking trunk rack!

justjon, I wonder if that trunk rack might be one of the ones sold by TBC last year? They were supposed to start shipping them after the first of the year. Anybody else recieve one yet? Sure would like to hear the reviews about them before I buy one. Leroy

Finishing touches are being put on the racks and they begin shipping this week. According to Aaron, he'll be shipping 20-40 racks per day as they are completed. I kind of doubt that one was one of Aaron's unless the Bird belongs to someone he knows personally, and got the first one - which I guess is possible. Did it look like this? http://www.thunderbirdconcepts.com/t...sneakpeek.html

I'm pretty sure it wasn't one of Aarons because i have been studying his pictures and at least think I would recognize that one. This one was wider across the trunk lid and very flat to the surface but parralel to the ground. Sorry only a glimpse.

As these threads get rather lengthy, has anyone considered doing sightings by state?

                      Re: 2009 T-Bird sightings

                      Hi there,

Spotted a few new ones around Dalton GA. What I mean is, it's the first time that I'm seeing them. This is because last November I changed jobs and now I have a longer and different route to/from work.

The two I have seen are a yellow with black soft top and a silver with black soft top. I was wondering if that might be someone who checks in on this web-site or does anyone know them?

I'll give them a wave if I get a chance and see if there's any response.

                      All the best, Gordon.

Steve that's what was done in New England back in 2007. Although not by State it covers our extended Region, NY to Canada, since we get together frequently:

I don't think one thread per year for the entire site is too much - besides - think of all those who travel to more than one state and catch a glimpse of another Bird along the way! Just might be another TBNer! The '08 thread has gone by the wayside - this is a new year!

Saw a VMG and a MSB today - first was on VB Blvd near Rosemont, second was on I-64 eastbound near Indian River.

Passed a black bird along the road near my house twice in 2 days - looked like the same car both times, since it had the same temporary dealer plate on it. So, it looks like someone bought a new (relatively speaking) bird. Maybe I can track 'em down and let 'em know about TBN...

Well, here's one for the books. On my way home from Pembroke this afternoon on VB Blvd, I saw what I thought was a Bird going in the opposite direction, but I thought, impossible! They never came in Brittish Racing Green! I did a U-turn as soon as I was legally able and caught up to it just as it was turning onto Witchduck. It WAS a Bird! With a sand soft-top. License plate was not Virginia - perhaps NY or PA - couldn't be sure. As fast as this guy was traveling, I wasn't about to whip out my camera and try to get a shot. Not at Moondoggie's expense!

Funny to see that Elle, I was looking at all the colors the other day and thought how nice it would have been to see a dark Moss Green like on alot of Fords in the sixties. The Mustang, T'Bird, Galaxies and LTD's were available in a Moss Green. Same color as the 68 Mustang Steve McQueen drove in Bullitt. A Green with Black interior would be beautiful. Maybe one of these with a rebuildable title would be a good canidate to refurbish in Dark Green.
