  • 10th anniversary!

Didn't pay attention. January 3rd was the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the Concept Thunderbird at the Detroit Auto show. Can you believe it's been that long ago?!

It's hard for me to believe that it's been almost 4 years since production of the Thunderbirds ended in 2005.

I wonder who will be the first on TBN to get ANTIQUE TAGS for their Bird.

I'm sure you have a reservation in for them at the Florida DMV Gobird.

I wonder what the next generation Bird will bring? It's not a matter of "IF," but "WHEN."

This really amazes me also. Time passing by way too swiftly. I still recall the first time seeing a new T-Bird, although at the time I had no idea I would be owning one since I wasn't even thinking of getting a convertible then or in the near future. By the way, it was in Seal Beach, Ca. Just a few blocks west of the Harbour Surf Shop.

WOW! Where has the time gone? When you think about it in those terms, it seems like thse cars have been around forever. And yes, as Greg said, it is also hard to believe that production ended almost four years ago (was that in July Dot?)

Time flys, at least we are having fun with our T Birds. I bought the first Retro TBird I saw. This is one impulse sale I have no regrets on.

The day my Inca left the factory (July 1, 2005). I will always remember that date.

Now that Maryland has lowered the eligibility age for Historic Tags to 20 years, those of us living here will only need to wait until 2022 to get them-five years earlier than I anticipated. I'll only be 75 years old instead of 80, as I initially figured I would be, but still an antique myself. I can't wait-but I won't give up my "FUNBIRD" vanity tags.

                          Dot:

I distinctly remember trekking out to the Detroit car show, I mean the North American International Auto Show, to see the car. We did it on very short notice as the revelation that the car would be unveiled here was somewhat of a surprise. I have some photos of the car being displayed at the show in my archives that I'll post if I can dig them up.
