They were very restrained. Wonder how they acted though that morning when they found the holes.

You have think that the news piece editor must be a car buff, as they edited in the bird logo when mentioning that the car was a thunderbird. All I could think of is that most news clips would never have even mentioned the car make/model.

I tried to find an email address on th eweb, for the Mayor of Walnut Ridge, AR. Figured I'd send her an invitation to join TBN. No luck finding it however. If anyone else finds one, might be nice to send her an invite.

            Area mayor’s car shot
            By George Jared
WALNUT RIDGE — A person or persons fired two gunshots into Mayor Michelle Rogers’ car Monday night or early Tuesday morning, and police are searching for clues.
Police have no suspects but are following up on at least one lead, Walnut Ridge Detective David Burnside said.
“I’ve got a 12-year-old daughter, and this concerns me very much,” Rogers said. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Arkansas State Police investigators removed bullet fragments from the door. None of the bullets penetrated the interior of the car, Rogers said.
The car was parked in Walnut Ridge on Monday in front of the family home. Rogers is the wife of state Rep. J.R. Rogers.
No threats have been made against the family, and Rogers said she’s puzzled why someone would shoot her car. She is unaware of any enemies.
Rogers said she parked next to the street after learning power had been turned back on at her house Monday night. During a phone call Rogers said she heard some “pops” outside, but she’s unsure if they were the gunshots.
The gunshots could have been random, but the fact there were two in the same door makes Rogers think it was intentional. “I’m definitely a little bit leery right now,” Rogers said.
            Power outages
Tensions in Northeast Arkansas have been high since most of the area lost electricity last week as ice storms pelted the region. The Rogers family donated a personal generator to the shelter at the Walnut Ridge Community Center to provide heat for those without power.
The mayor hopes the shots weren’t a result of frustration.
“I hope it wasn’t over the storm,” Rogers said. “We were without power just like everybody else.”
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Walnut Ridge Police Department at (870) 886-3568.
