Well, here we go.

Perfect fit.

Note from posts are only 1/8" from the edge

Couple more ange shots of fitment and overall look.

I Test fitted the clamps. There is plenty of clearance for them from the fender edges. The part that actually clamps to the trunk lid are padded.

With the Rack aligned properly (See Paper Test), the Thrid Brake Ligt is clearly visable, from rear of car.

Now to go and clamp it down. I will add the "Stress Load" Straps, so you can see them installed. Really easy, just hook the padded clamps to the front edge of the rack, and secure the straps to the first bar. That now gives the rack 6 holding spots to handle heavy loads.

The Clamps

First one Front Clamp. Tight Fit, But clears no problem

Second: Rear Clamp. Plenty of clearance

Third. The Safty Sress Straps. They are long, so I did have a slight problem shortening them up to fit as the instructions state. Might fit better if use second bar, versus the first one as indicated in the instructiions.

Thanks. I'm going to leave it on for a while. And go to a couple of Cruise Night's with it, and see what, if any, repsonses are made about it. I expect about a 50/50 ratio.

Looks good! I'd be very interested in the responses you receive from the various cruises youtake the Bird on. And I'm going to be very interested to hear how this rack works out with a load on it for a trip or two.
As for cosmetics is looks good. Waiting to see how practical it is.

Dave, your photos are great.... I must say that the look of the luggage rack on a black bird is very impressive... thanks for taking so much trouble with the various shots of the luggage rack.

So I wonder if I will see one of these racks within the "Toronto convoy" pack which will make it to Ottawa in May?.... hmmm...
