Re: Counting down!
A couple weeks ago we had a 62 degree day and I was able to get mine out to the car wash and put about 10 miles on it. First time it had been out since Thanksgiving. I also fired up my 1948 Willys, It had been setting since October. Come on Spring, I'm ready. Leroy

Re: Counting down!
My car has been in the shop for over a month now having a "couple" of things done to it. Got a call yesterday that the new tires are in and will be mounted today. I should have it back by this weekend. I can't wait. Hopefully spring will be here soon as well.

Mine is still sitting under covers and limited insurance. BUT there may be news coming soon ..... my baby may be on a move soon. Or at least I may be!

Re: Counting down!
Mine's been out all winter long, almost 83K now. Only one day I wasn't able to leave the nest with it. Love this year-round ride!PK- 2002 Premium Blue/Full Accent/Whisper White TopVIN#16336

Re: Counting down!
Pretty much have had the top down all winter down here. As we move toward summer, I'll put the hard top back on for better insulation and air conditioning.
When I used to live up north, the spring was always an exciting time for getting the old classic sports car cleaned and ready for the season. On the day the salt was cleaned from the streets, my car was out and about.

Re: Counting down!
Me too! Last took mine out on the day after Thanksgiving, then came the all-time record snowfall of December 2008. Though temps are surging here in Wisconsin today (45 degrees F.)--will wax the wheels, and then maybe... fire it up next week just to wake the sleeping beauty up! Maybe by April 1st the roads will be cleaned up enough to venture out. Plan on keeping the portholes on though till about Memorial day--unless we get a really warm May.

Re: Counting down!
When I was in school in Columbus, Ohio, we used to tell the first warm day of spring would bring out the Starliners(I think) lined up at the Ford dealer with tops half up or down. My girlfriend's dad let us drive his 55TBird all the time(like in the Beachboys) and I still prefer the soft top to the newfangled hard tops which, to my mind, defeat the whole convertible experience....the sound of rain on a soft top is too much to sacrifice.
