I allways felt that smell is either the a/c water hitting the exhaust or it could be my breath blowing back into my face

Ours has always done that, Iva refers to it as "The ole girl's ----ing and gitten"

Our 02 and 04 only have this problem when we take off the traction control when lining up at the lights. The cars run mid 14's with one wheel smokin! The worst part it trying to get the rubber / asphalt off the painted parts aft of the smokin tire! Usually the passenger side. Don't really worry about the smell.
