Dome light removal

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to find out how to remove the hard top dome light. My light has burned out and I need to replace it.

Rock, The dome light is on your windshield header, not your hardtop.

You will see a seam near the bracket for the Sun Visors. Pull down on each side and the whole header bar should come loose. The bulb are all reachable from the inside of the hearder bar. Afrer you change thebulb, just snap the header back in place. It's really easy.

Have you done this to your 02? Do you know who has one in an 02? Is it just plug an play or do you need to modify wiring? If it is plug and play, then I will get one.

Hi! I was up gradeing the map light bulbs in my dome light assembly on my 2005 and now the whole thing won't come on. It will sometimes, but not often. Is it the fuse? I checked all the fuses and they seem good. Tried a bunch of different bulbs. No luck. Does anybody know where I can buy the entire dome light assembly for my 2005 Bird? Thank you!

You probably don't need a new assembly, it's probably a broken wire or loose connector. Take an ohm meter and test the voltage at the bulb clips, then the connector. It's most likely a problem where you were working on it.
