    Re: 02 dash kits

To suprise Ray I'm going to conspire with his family to feature him on a new episode of "Overhaulin". If you've never seen the show, they secretly take someones old car and overhaul it and then return it.

I'll have them return the car to "original condition"...getting them to find an orginal hood, paint the tires black.

Most importantly I'll have them alternate the colors of the dash panel painting some a greyish black and others a dark black so it's "factory fresh".

    He will be SOOOOOO Happy!!!

      Hey Ed,
I'm also tempted. I have the exact same car as you. I'm trying to decide which color kit to get for our sand package. Have you given it any thought?

Do it if you want to, but I have one caution for those living in hot climates. Don't do it. Eventually the glue melts and the installed kit looks like sh#%. The sections begin to crack and peel off. I had this experience here in Florida by installing an expensive kit on a vehicle some years ago.

Bados if what you say is true one of these days you will walk out and find your car in a big pile of pieces with all the plastic and glue that is used in the manufacture of these cars. The plastic bumpers don't even have the added strength of glue...they are held on by tiny plastic pushpins.

Keep a close eye on the engine too since it's mainly that flimsey lightweight aluminum!!!

That's because no one takes a pic of the installation and sends it back to the seller to put on their site. Most sellers will ask you to do that when the kit arrives. I was going to send some pics when I installed mine, but I only used some of the pieces and not the entire kit. That would not have been a good representation of their product, so I didn't send any back.

I don't think the Brown compliments the Blue. Just my opinion. Leroy

                    James,
Is your kit from Wood Dash Experts? Their 26 piece set doesn't show a piece for the center of the center consol ( where the shift is )
                    Thanks, Mike

I Like your Dash - It shouldnt have to compliment Anything In my opinion! It is one of those things FoMoCo just screwed up and didnt Do.
I like It and think it Looks Nice! If anything a bit over done BUT still Nice! ! Is it real wood?
Hey if it said Lincoln on the side I can assure you there would be wood some where in the interior!
                        Also Just my opinion!

Brad, I'm speaking from experience, but I guess you have to worry about the freezing cold temps in chicago in the winter while my top is down, here. Seriously, the heat down here does raise hell with plastics which tend to get brittle after some time. However, we don't have to worry about salt on the roads here, just old drivers with debilitating senses and young girls with no brains.

Ken it's even worse when the "old drivers" have a young female sitting next to them
