      Dot - Marilyn,
Thanks for the Props! It is Red with a solid black interior! I hate to buy anything site unseen but at that price a few issues wont hurt - which I by the way am fully expecting to find - but will work through them!
I have a One Owner (Me) Red with Black interior Datsun 240z so the color was what I was kind of partial to! I Love my Z but not practicle for vacation - No air - typical Old car Issues BUT FUN!
      Thanks
      Ted

        Re: Buying a T'Bird

Ted, I would fly down, you could probably get a one-way ticket alot cheaper than it would cost to drive. That way you can enjoy driving it home. Be sure to check with the dealer about the Sales Tax before you go. You might have to pay Florida tax or you might not. I bought my car in PA. and didn't have to pay sales tax on it till I plated it in Indiana. Also call your Insurance company and make sure you're covered, they'll need the VIN no. Good Luck, Leroy

          Re: Buying a T'Bird

          Thanks Leroy,
I have to apply Tennessee Tax 7% to the sale price as we are recripical(sp) states I did check on it! They said they would hold it for two or three weeks No Problem! This is good as I am battleing Cancer and have just finished with Chemo & Rad tr'mts and am awaiting Surgery in about 4 weeks from Now. Have got to work this little problem around Dr Visits!
This personal problem did not made the decision to buy (didnt hurt haha) BUT Been wanting a Bird Long before I got this news!
The wife and I Will probably fly down $150 per person not bad as I do want to confront the seller with any issues I might have that might not have been disclosed - Hopefully NONE!
          Thanks!

            Re: Buying a T'Bird

Ted, I also bought mine sight unseen from an out-of-state dealer. In fact, I had only seen one other retro Bird at the time but was completely sold at first glance - I had to have those portholes! Ford (for some unknown reason) did not allow the Bronze to be sold new with a Black hardtop, which was the combo I wanted, so I intentionally looked for one that was topless. It did not take me long to find the hardtop I wanted. I also had the dealer drive the car to me from OH to VA, at his expense, that saved the transport cost. You might want to check with member Rick (World Class Wheels) who has a number of hardtops for sale. You couldn't deal with a nicer more honest person.

I just looked at all the pics in the link you sent, and it looks like you got a real beauty at a great price! You can get an idea what it would look like with a Black HT, when the soft top is up. Some of the members here have also added White HTs which look really great when whitewalls are also added. Anything, or everything, you add is of course your personal preference.

Wishing you FUN, FUN, FUN, and many hours of HAPPY SMILES.

            P.S. My ex had a 240Z - cute car.
P.S.S. Best Wishes for your treatment and good health.

Ted good luck with your NEW Ride I'm sure you will enjoy it.Florida was the second highest delivery state for T-Birds (Cal.#1) Alot of them were delivered with H/T but with the :sun:they were left at dealers or sold.Good Luck also with your treatments.

Redwog, Congratulations! I just went on eBay and checked the completed listings and checked out the photos of your new baby. Looks fantastic, and saw the boot included in the trunk. I'm only about 30 minutes from Coconut Creek, if there is any way I can assist you, let me know.

                      Re: Buying a T'Bird

Hello Ted. Welcome to TBN and congratulations on your purchase. I also checked out the listing on EBay, and it's a really beautiful car. The dealer did a great job of providing a lot of really good pictures. One added benefit of the '04's & '05's is the Homelink transmitter (the picture of the 3 buttons in the center of the windshield header) so you can control garage doors or other remote devices. I also wish you the very best in your recovery after the Chemo & Radiation. I'm sure you're glad that's behind you.

                      Chuck

I did wonder what the buttons were for I have only driven 2002 models.
Sure like a man who has two T'Birds - I assume they are his and hers or maybe Mine and Mine HaHa! They are both BEAUTIFUL!
                        Thanks so much!

                          UPDATE! ! ! !
Meet with my Dr Monday told him our delima with the car - after snickering and asking the details he said 'Hey if you feel up to it Go For It!' Well I dont feel 'up to' mowing grass - I dont feel 'up to' landscaping BUT I DO feel 'UP TO' driving a sportscar from Fla to Tennessee HeHeHe! ! ! ! !
The wife and I are going to fly to Coconut Creek, Fla tomorrow morning to pickup our New Baby! Thanks to MR Ed Martin - "Ediron" on TBN
I am satasified with my price and quality - he has been GREAT! Even test drove her to test out the shifter, engin and drivetrain - All passed his inspection said he had No issues! I sincerely hope someday I can be as Helpful to another TBN member as Mr Ed has been to me - this is what these type of informal clubs should be about!
We plan to go to Key West for a day then back to Miami - up Hwy 1A as far as we can in an 8 to 10 hour day - Short Visit with a Friend in W. Palm Beech then head North Saturday morning to Tennessee! Be home by Sunday or Monday or Tuesday - depends on How much fun we are having - For once in my life 'No clock to punch' so we will see !
                          CANT WAIT!
                          Later

Funny you mention the trunk - A friend of mine has two Birds on his used lot both with 80 & 90000 mikes Not for me!?!?! I called him this afternoon to see if he would let me try some pieces of luggage in the trunk of one. The wife and I took about four bags up there - two of them fit Perfect like they were made for it - even going to have room for a hangup bag laid over the two bags! I asked her Darlin - WHY do we need a hangup bag? I have three shorts two bluejeans one pair of swim trunks and 5 teeshirts - Wonder whats in the hangup bag? Keeping her Sundress neat I Guess Duh!
Ho Well feeling a little giddy Now!

Ted, enjoy your flight down today and the drive back. Just don't leave your bag home like Lonestar did this past week. which reminds me my 92K bird is due for it's spring clean-up. Have you thought about getting a front end bra for the car for the trip home? Ask the dealer if you're interested.
