I did the same thing last year when I flew to pick up my yellow (with a white top) in Florida. I had to fly down twice due to problems with Massachusetts not letting you do a temporary registration, but had a great drive back.
Congrats Pat!!! Once you drive that car...you will have a war with your husband!!!The car is SO MUCH FUN to drive!! All you have to do is start it up and you feel younger!! They are so much fun!!! Welcome to our world!!!
That's a great story. Congratulations Pat! And "well done" to the hubby, clearly a man of action.
Cheers,

Hop a plane and drive Julep the rest of the way home Pat! The first few days of bonding are critical!
We actually talked about me flying down and meeting him somewhere enroute, but all the contractors who were scheduled to come and work on the house in the past few days (we are moving soon) made that impractical. But don't worry, safe to say I've already bonded with a car I haven't even seen yet...
He and Julep should be home late tonight. Photos forthcoming, I promise!
Thanks to everyone here for your kind thoughts and congrats.
Hi Pat! Congratulations on your new T-Bird. I know how exciting that can be as I did much the same in 2005 when I picked up my 02 T-bird blue. I saw the bird advertised on autotrader and it had only 250 miles on it. I couldn't believe it, so I immediately contacted the dealer and after having him send me a few pics, I got on the phone and made them an offer. We came to an aggreement on the price and a week later I was on the plane to pick up the car. The T-Bird was still new and I had a 2 day drive home. What a rush.
Enjoy the excitement!
Cheers,
Jim......
