    Re: Top Down Weather!

GORGEOUS top-down weather in Dallas today! A Steel Blue with his top down followed me out into the country this afternoon.

    Ahhhhh... what a feeling.

I had my first top-down drive of 2009 today. Low 60's here in Jersey. And if that wasn't special enough it was also first whitewall topdown drive!

Top came off yesterday evening, but to late to go out "topless". Can't wait 'til this weekend. Supposed to nice enough for a short trip somewhere....ANYWHERE!

              Re: Top Down Weather!

Took a road trip last Friday to Tyler (E TX) last Friday. My friend sent the weather forecast in hopes that I might change my mind. It was supposed be cloudy, thunderstorms likely, and a cold front coming in.

              "And, your point is???"

Stopped in Edom for lunch http://www.theshedcafe.com/ ,and as we were leaving, we had a few drops of rain...well, maybe a little more.

30 min later in Tyler the shower stopped, the sun almost came out...and I dropped the top. This is just a small sample of what we saw

Still top down, we cruised down the road a few miles to

When I was a child, we had Killough Family Reunions there every year. Killough's from all over the United States gathered...one year we even had family members from Ireland!

I turned CARTOY off the Highway and into the country. Got lost, and had to stop and ask the way to our next stop deep in the Piney Woods to (you don't have to read it all...just drop to the middle of the page for a pic)

And YES, it POURED on us on the way back to Dallas, but it was a great top down cruise while it lasted!

                Re: Top Down Weather!

Our top doesn't come off until May, unless Susan gets the urge before the middle of the month. She likes the look with the hard top better than the soft top. Of course topless is the best.

Marilyn, Yes according to the news, but I wouldn't take the 'bird anywhere near them this weekend....you know...... parade and all, and I sure wouldn't leave it parked at a Metro station. Thinking about taking a ride to Mount Vernon, the Parkway drive is nice.

I DON'T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT! WOW, was that ever ESP!!! I've been thinking about that pretty drive to Mount Vernon ever since you first posted two days ago. Started to mention it, but there are so MANY places to visit, I just figured I'd read about your cruise after the fact. That is REALLY a coincidence - great minds.

Don't blame you about the parking situation. I've sometimes been lucky enough to find a meter, but it's almost not worth the effort. Besides, on the weekend it will be packed down there, and it's not much of a cruise from Waldorf.

                        Re: Top Down Weather!

On Tuesday PM Cille had to go out in the afternoon, vacating her side of the garage. The top hoist is on her side of the garage so I couldn't resist the opportunity to take off the top. I has been pretty nice for the past week, but the forecast is for a cold front with rain on the weekend. Guess I will have to wait it out to cruise around in the open air.

Too bad we can't think of some economical way to pack up that mid-west snow and ice and ship it to California. We are in the third year of below average rain/snow so they are rationing the water this summer. I guess that the yards will match the golden hills later in the year.

Hey Mike! I didn't realize you guys got hit with that much snow! WOW! I have had the top off the bird for about 3 weeks now. I will admit she has been back in the garage covered up for the past week but today...today she comes out. Suppose to be 60 and sunny all day!

I hope to have a friend come over mid April to help me lift the top off and I'll be "top-down" once the weather cooperates. They are forecasting possible snow flurries this weekend in Chicago.
