Attached is a photo that I found in my "archives" that I thought TBN members might be interested in seeing. It was taken at the 1999 (thats right - 10 years ago) ITC Convention in Suffern, NY. Ford lent one of the concept TBirds to the club for display purposes, and what a hit it was. It was essentially a styling exercise, with only enough working electrical equipment to operate the starter (no lights, audio, etc). It did have an engine so it could be moved on it's own power. It had straight pipes and no catalytic converter or mufflers - it sounded GREAT!! (but not as good as Borlas). It was the only time I actually got to sit in one until mine was delivered over two years later. We took a lot of photos of the car with the "vintage" Birds. This photo shows the concept car with a '55 that belonged to one of the club member's, sort of a study in the new and the old. It's hard to believe that this was 10 years ago. It is interesting to note how close the concept car is to the actual production version. Makes one wonder why it took two years to get it released.
