I agree Ed I would sure hate to be one of the consigners this week WowwCant believe the prices so Low - only prople making money is Barrett Jackson with the 10% buyers premium!
The retro Bird w/ 4 miles will probably bring way less than 20k
Give us a report if you go Ed - With all your money and as cheap as things are going you should register as a buyer!
      Good Luck Buddy

It's good to see the prices coming down on in the collector car hobby. Now maybe some of us common men and women can afford our dream cars. Speculators had just about ruined the hobby. I'll bet Barrett-Jackson is having a hissy fit that their profits are shrinking.

Amen to that Bubba! Just as recently as last year , certain vintage Corvettes, stangs, and T-birds (56 and 57) were fetching 150- 200k. Insane!

'03 with 4 miles on odometer sold for $30,500 + commisions. If anyone wants to keep track of it the VIN prod. number is 3Y114190. OH yes, it is RED.

That certainly exceeded my guess on it. I thought it would have only fetched $23,500.

I guess this is good news overall but probably not too good for the individual who purchased it new, did not enjoy it, and sold it for about $10K less than the individual paid for it.

That Bird must have had something special about it or the guy that bid that much needs to have his head examined. I'm all for it though, I would love to see the value of our Birds go up. Maybe it sold for that becuase it was in MINT condition too, no after market junk on it, besides the low miles. And maybe it's still under an extended warranty. Leroy

Went there yesterday .Looked at both Birds the 03 could have been on the dealers floor, 4 mi.stored in an A/C garage. The original owner took a beating why have it never use it and sell it for 10K+ less than purchase.A waste IMO.The 05 if you like it had a chrome strip, skirts and cont.kit nice clean car.If you like to roam this is the place cars, cars and more cars to look at.I didn't stay in the selling area to long as I could have done that at home.Ford had a BIG presents there with about 10 Mustangs Dave you would have loved it plus company's that build Mustangs.GM showed the '10 Camaro and Chrysler the Charger. The new '10 Mustang is a beauty with a bold rear design almost makes me want to trade the DTS for one. A very enjoyable day.
Ohhhh the one thing I was temped to put a deposit on was a travel home one was $1,400,000 the other was a little over $2,000,000 but then I remembered my condo assoc. only allows 2 cars.and 2 parking spaces

                      Kinda blows your theory
about aftermarket parts de-valuing the Bird.

Not really, the 05 sold for the same as the 03 that was clean. Leroy

The announcers seemed to think that the value of the retro birds would be pretty good in 20 years. I probably won't be around then, and if I am, I probably won't care. The announcers did not seem to care too much for the "after market parts", but they did not seem to hurt the value or maybe even enhanced it for that particular buyer - most of the stuff could be taken off without damaging the car - not sure about the continental kit. I am still not a fan of some of those add-ons, but if they can be removed without damage, it would not stop me from making the purchase. The price was crazy though compared to what I have seen on the market.

the seller pays a commission TOO....so they both net less than the winning bid.....take the 10% off......and they fet close to the street price

If I remember correctly, the seller pays 4% and the buyer pays 8%...
