To all members, find attached a picture of my 2002 T-Bird from Quebec City, Canada.

Note : I am looking for "Window Sticker from the Manufacturer" (new car fact sheet in the window at the dealership). Can someone help me with this?

    Welcome, Pierre!

You have a great looking car and the picture should definitely be entered int the Thunderbird of the Month contest.

A few of us are planning a trip to Canada in August and hope to visit Quebec City. Perhaps we can meet you when we are in the area.

A former member used to be able to get window stickers from Ford, but I don't know if anyone can get one made these days or not. Good luck in your quest.

      Hi Pierre,
Welcome to TBN. I dont' know of anyone on this site that can get that done but have you tried the dealership that sold your car when it was new? Be aware, the window sticker sheet that Ford uses now is about 2 inches larger than the window stickers that were used when these cars were new.

There are others that are asking for a scan of someone's window sticker and replacing the vital info with what they know about their car. That is working out ok for them. However, the window sticker file needs to be either shrunk to fit on a standard home printer or the file taken to a printer with larger print area as the dimensions of the window sticker are 9 5/8 inches x 11 inches.

Even scanning a window sticker for most people will result in having to make two scans because of the size of the sticker. Then the two files would have to be merged - not a real problem. Then some one with good graphics ability to replace the info with the info you want in the sticker.

        Hi Pierre,
Welcome to TBN. Great shot of your Bird.
You might consider listing it for TOTM next month.

          Hi Pierrre and welcome!

I noticed that your car has the supplemental parking lamps. All T-Birds sold in Canada had painted covers where the lenses are since the lights are illegal there. Did you replace them or was the car bought in the States?

Would agree with Ron , The fog lights and also, the chrome wheels would indicate that it was a 'sold new' in U.S. car. There should be a DSO on the data info on the door piller sticker. However, lights can be added as many of us do up here and wheels can be changed as well.
              Martin.

btw. Pierre, Why don't you bring that nice yellow bird to Ottawa for the All Ford show in May. Info can be found on list of events.

Hi, I got the fog lights on my Canadian car. Ordered them when the car was bought. You could order them right from the Canadian Ford dealer. They are legal long as you buy the ones with the safety glass. If I remember right they were around $200.00. That is why they where not on the Canadian cars, because of the price. The American cars do not have the safety glass, at least the 2002's didn't according to the dealer.

Does that mean the US versions are much cheaper also? If so, that's interesting since my '02 (Canadian version) does not have these installed. I might buy the cheaper US version in that case.

In Canada the dealer here would only sell (or only can sell) the lights with the safety glass. I guess if you buy them in the States, you could buy the cheaper ones. But they are not allowed here apparently. And when I said around $200.00, I was just trying to remember but not sure, could be more or less. Bought other things at the same time, the chrome scoop piece, the better floor matts, ect. Hope this helps you.

Re: New T-Bird pic from Quebec City

Didn't know there was a difference in the SPLs between Canada and the US.

All I ever heard back in 2001 is that the lights would put the bumpers over a maximum price for fixing a damaged bumper with the lights installed and wouldn't pass the 5mph crash test if they had the lights installed. However the US was able to offer them as an free option and Canada wouldn't allow fog lamps on a bumper as standard equipment so they were only available to the Canadian consumer after the car was bought from the dealer.

I think it was stated in a brochure or memo or the order forms that the fog lamps were not legel in Canada.

There are several members still on this board that made the switch to SPLs after they bought their cars. They might remember the details better.

I would have to agree with your interpretation Dot. It was a ruling by the DOT (Department of Transport. (not Dot) that they did not meet the requirements. I ordered ours from the local Ford dealer and installed them myself. A friend picked his up from a Buffalo Ford dealer and they are the same. When we toured the Wixom facility, these blanks were all over the place as the workers popped them out and missed the barrel they would toss them in.
Today, if inporting a retro Bird from the U.S., you have to put the blanks in over the lights and remove them later or you will not pass the safety/ entry requirement. It applies for all four model years.

                              Pierre,

I have 2002 Blue. If you have no success in getting a good scan, I have access to a wide scanner (11x17) that will scan the entire window sticker.

I have to look for the sticker and am kind of bussy right now. I will let you know if I locate it.
