AIR BAGS - ON OR OFF ?

I want to take one of my grandsons for a short road trip and need to know
exactly how can you tell if the air bag is on or off on the passenger side.

it always displays off ....I have never seen it display on.

I don't have my car here, but if I remember right - you have to use the key to turn the airbag off. I always keep the passenger bag off, if no one is riding with me to avoid breaking the windshield if I'd have a small bump.

Without looking at mine if display light stays on it's off. No display it's on. You will get an off display for a few seconds with start up to test lamp. But please check manuel to be sure this is the safty of your grandson were talking about.

I don't remember either but it is obvious. When the airbag is off the light stays on and if I remember correctly the key slot is horizontal as opposed to vertical. I always turn it off when my dog is riding in the TBird with me. I would hate to see him launched into orbit.

If the key slot is pointing to the "off" - then the airbag should be off and the light shows.

When the key slot is turned to the "on" position (veritcal) - there is no light visible and the airbag is in it's active mode.

You should have printed words "on" and "Off" around the key slot area.

On my 02, the airbag key position reverts to the airbag "on" position when I turn the car off. I've never checked to see if it does that on the 05.

if the off light is on its off...i take my 2yr old for rides alot an when he is in his car seat i turn off the bag....to turn the bag off or on...insert key it only inserts part way...turn the key to the position you want and then pull the key it will stay at that position....
