  • LEATHER SEAT REPLACEMENT MATERIAL

Does any one know where I can purchase genuine leather to match our birds colors?
Have an 05 in CASHMERE and an 03 with red & black full accent. I was able to get replacement colors for an old Dodge p/u came as a full hide and matched perfectly.

    Thanks

    DENNIS

Oh boy Dennis, I've been around and around on this one! The red is available and is an exact match to the Bird's interior. It is called Colorado Red, not Torch Red. I've had my custom upholsterer split open a number of headrests and replace the center section with this red, and we did one leather boot made from it and they all look great. The black is also readily available.

I believe the Cashmere is also available (not called Cashmere of course), I'll check with her and get the manufacturer info for both colors.

In another post I bought 2 seat bottoms for my 04 sand interior from a Ford dealer in S.Fl. @ $277.66 + tax. They are Ford seats. If you order material you have to select the color and have it punched for the back and seat they have to take the seat apart and resew.I have one price to remove and reinstall the new bottom for $80. I contacted Team Ford on the web and then called them.

Its a shame that Ford doesn't make a quality vinyl like VW does with its "leatherette"... I know it must sound sacrilegious to put more vinyl in the 'Bird, but the stuff looks good and no cracks!

I was wondering if Eagle Ottawa was the supplier, but couldn't find any info saying so. I have some leather cleaner recommended by Eagle Ottawa (Tanners Preserve) that did a very good job of cleaning the seats in my cashmere bird after I got it home.

Kevin: I sent them a note asking that same question. If they respond, I'll post it here.

                  ALL

I called Eagleottawa this am about Tbird leather. The person I talked to did not want to help. She said "WE DO NOT SELL TO INDIVIDUALS" All I wanted to find out was if they made the originals and who sells it in USA.
This call was to the Auburn Hills office in USA. Back to square 1. Perhaps best deal is to purchase ready made from FORD.

Dennis don't feel bad, they completely ignored my email request. I guess some customer service people just do not understand common courtesy
I don't understand why they have "contact us" on a website if they're not going to respond

                      Kevin and Dennis:
I just received an email from Eagle, see below:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We were the provider of the leather material for the seats, but not the actual seat sewer or manufacturer. The best way to get replacement seats would be through your local Ford dealer. They would be able to order either the leather to be replaced or the whole seat."

Archie, you are absolutely right, Ford's leather is the worse no matter how much you baby it or care for it...

Actually now that I think of it, Mustang's rear seats are not leather, but some type of leatherette.
