  • Spare Tire Spindle Plastic Thingie

These cars came with a black plastic thingie that sat atop the spare tire spindle to keep the post from working/poking its way through the trunk floor.

    Mine is gone.

Saw one at a recent show where I was gigged for not having one.

Anyone know where to get one?

      For my fellow compulsive owners:

The part number is : 1F1Z-1462-AA.

It is called a nut - wing, but it is not a wing nut, it is a black plastic tip for the spare tire spindle to keep the spindle from poking through the trunk floor lid.

It is no longer available in the Ford part system, but dealers seem to have them on the shelf (one each).

I got mine from a local dealer for $10.00 (list is $19.79). He was glad to get rid of it, after all these years.
