Saw an ad for "Forever Black" products, one for tires and one for vinyl/rubber. Anyone out there used this before or even heard of it?

Re: New Product on the Market?
Not really new as I used a product with this name many yrs.ago. Was great on rubber trim on bumpers (remember them) if you got wax on the rubber it turned white .This would blacken it again.Almost like a shoe polish if it's the same product.sigpic

Re: New Product on the Market?
Be careful when using this though. I didn't read the directions and put in on the black pillars on my old Explorer which were metal. I know - I should have read the directions.
Anyway, when they say don't get it on metal they mean it. It ended up stripping half the paint off, so the good news was that it took care of the oxidizing that had occurred on the paint. Then I had to repaint the pillars black.

Appreciate the input, maybe I'll get some and try it on the daily driver first. Anything will be better that what that tired "company car" looks like now."Probably good enough, isn't"

Re: New Product on the Market?
There are products out there which do the blackening job without all the downsides. Check Griots Garage. I have used the long lasting tire dressing for a long time. It is great and if you want to spend a little quality time on the tires you can do a really long lasting job when starting with their rubber prep. Check out Griot's Garage products....you won't be sorry.

Used this once on my old truck that the black mouldings had turned gray.
4 years later they were still blacksigpic
