  • More Window Sticker questions - the term Roadster?

Update: See message #42. I think I've got enough info to come to a conclusion on the following. No need to answer unless you want to, now.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This past week I had an inquiry about the term "Roadster"
So my questions posed to all of you, 2002 to 2005 Thunderbird owners with your original window stickers. Please answer each numbered question.
1 - What year is your model - as listed on your Window Sticker.
2 - Is your thunderbird a deluxe or premium model? (you need to know the original wheel style on your car - see explanation below if you don't know).
3 - Does your WS say your car came with a hardtop?
4A - Does your window sticker label your thunderbird as a "200#* Thunderbird Roadster?
(You'll find the label near the top of your WS)
    or
4B - Does your window sticker label your tbird as a 200#* Thunderbird (without the Roadster designation)?
    and/or
4C - Does your window sticker label your tbird as a 200# Thunderbird Sport? (found in center of window sticker on 2005)
    *= 2002 or 2003, or 2004, or 2005
Wheels: Some of the 04 and 05 WS may say your car is a deluxe but may be a premium so do know your wheel style - visit my webpage:
http://www.portholeauthority.com/the...rd/Wheels.html if you don't know the difference. Generally, if it was originally chrome, it's a premium but the 04s and 05s may have a premium painted wheel with the flat surfaces machined to the metal, giving it a shiney (not painted) look. The deluxe models have fully painted wheels for all 4 years.
Since Canadian models had slightly different specs, I do not need your feedback for this question if you have a Canadian model but you can answer the questions if you want to, just make sure I know it's a Canadian model.
I need multiple replies for all years to come to any kind of conclusion so please reply even if someone else has already done your year and style.

According to Merriam-Webster he didn't lie....
a 2-door automobile often seating only two persons

                    And Wikipedia states..
Coupés are often hardtoppedsports cars and since the word "often" is used it would apparently mean they are not always hardtops.

                    Bird is the word.....

Re: More Window Sticker questions - the term Roadster?

Rusty, The Salesman had no idea the top was removeable. I later found out from a friend that worked for the same dealer at another lot that the car had been bought at auction, had high miles and was probably a repo, it had no boot or stand for the top. A Roadster is an open two door car that can seat 1 to 3 people including the driver. An open two door with a rumble seat is also considered a Roadster. Example, a 1969 Corvette convertible is a Roadster but a 1969 Corvette T-Top is a Coupe. Leroy

Robert, most who have window stickers bought their cars new and saved them. It's very difficult it seems to get one from a Ford dealer if you've bought a used 'bird. Extremely few dealers are willing to go that "extra mile" to get one for you unless you're a really steady customer. That, and Ford only has that info available for up to 10 years after car was built. You might be able to get build info from Ford Customer Service - same info but in letter form, not window sticker form.

I did receive build info from Ford Customer Service in letter form on my PCR. The information in the letter included the decoding on my VIN - P63 "Thunderbird 2 Door Convertible - Pacific Coast Roadster." I thought it was interesting that John said there was no notation on his original window sticker referring to Pacific Coast Roadster.
