It will be interesting to see which car loses a bigger percentage of value in 5 years, well interesting for me anyway because if you can pick up a Tbird for the price of a 7 year old Nissan I'm for that too!

You have also had the honor of being the cover photo for the 2009 Retro Bird Calendar.
          I always liked that shot.

Re: My Thunderbird Journey Has Come To An End, Folks...

From the time I turned 17 in 1960, to age 22 in 1965, I owned five used cars (and a H/Davidson). Most were pieces of junk (the door kept flying open in turns on my 55 Ford convertible). One car started out good (57 BelAir), but wound up being a mechanical wreck, thanks to Sunday trips to the dragstrip. (The bike cost me and my cousin $150 each. What a bomb that thing was! And yet, somebody stole the darn thing from outside my house.)

But, you never forget your first new car.

For me, it was a 1965 Nassau Blue Corvette convertible. Being 22, single, and driving a new Vette, it just doesn't get any better.

To this day, I can't remember where I ever got the $4,300 cash to buy it.

Probably able to save it because I lived at home and had a few good paying union jobs back then (Steelworkers and UAW).

Hope you took a lot of pictures of your TBird. You'll have some gret memories some day. (I still have a few of my Corvette, but they are in pretty bad condition now.)

Betcha 20 years from now he buys a pristine retro T-bird for 40k. Financially it still works out better for him this way...but every time he see's one on the road he will think about the day he sold his....

He would have but unfortunately, and not to put him on blast here, he is in worse financial shape than I am!! LOL...

We're planning on buying an old Mustang though once we get enough money stashed away so that'll be cool! :)

Thanks, Scotty! I went to see my friend's Dad, Bill Craffey, at Barber Ford Ventura! Please PLEASE refer any friends or family to him if they are in need of a car. He is the nicest most humble salesman you'll ever meet! He works with you from his heart and will give you his most honest opinion rather than trying to take you for a ride, so-to-speak. :)

Yes, that was very sweet. Thanks, Martin. I got some pretty nice pics of the t-bird.....*sigh* but...I can't have any regrets. I did what I did for a reason and I have to remember that. :)
