Re: Possible Hardtop Relay- Chicago to North Carolina

Margaret and I want to make a quick trip to the Shackup Inn in Clarksdale , MS sometime soon. Clarksdale ain't far from Memphis. So, if Brad can get the top to Memphis, we can make a transfer and bring the top back home to Madison, MS. From there we can transport it to Atlanta, GA and vicinity.

In our opinion, that sounds like the best deal. Now we need to hear from members in St. Louis, Memphis, and near by.

If you have a gap in timing I could pick it up and hold it here for you. Just a thought.

Unless that's just something you want to do, I'd send a few pm's to members along your chosen route. Lots of folks here just don't check the forums on a daily basis, and even then, they pick and choose the threads that interest them. We have a lot of willing members, especially this time of year.

Not sure if I'm on the route but I'm between Chicago and Indy on I-74.

Thanks for everyone's offers for help, I ended up dropping it off in Winston-Salem.

When I asked for any recomendations on things to do there, the advice I got was to get as far away as possible as quickly as possible!!!

Mapquest called it a 12 hour drive...I made it in a little over 10!

                    You do the math.

Do you still need someone to take it East in North Carolina? I'm going to Raleigh on Saturday and can take it that far.

Hey brad, Whoever you talked/chatted with obviously didn't know what they were talking about. Winston-Salem and surrounding areas has a "pleathera" of things to explore/enjoy and learn about. There is a ton of history in the area and lots of georgous driving routes, great restaurants, sight seeing, wineries, etc....... I could go on and on.

I agree. The few times we've been in NC I've never seen anything I didn't like and great BBQ (east or west).

I just read throught the thread and saw you had got it taken care of. In the future I would be willing to help if you need it. I can come from Winston-Salem all the way to "near Wilmington" +/- Myrtle Beach etc. I go down there (ILM) around every four to six weeks or thereabouts. I have a pretty easy schedule so distance is not too much of an issue for me. Be happy to help. PM me whenever:^)
                            Cheers,
