I have owned numerous Ford products and had several Co. cars with high mileage. This is a Ford characteristic. The tensionors are not well built and the new belts put a lot of strain on them. Good thing is,,,, it's not a difficult or expensive fix. Another Ford weak spot is the starter, altho I haven't replaced the one on the Tbird yet.

I agree, the roller bearings on U.S. cars for several years now are stamped (CHINA)..

I'm surprised that some parts are/were still made by Ford. It seems like most car companies today may build the body (or portions of it) and install parts that are manufactured off-site by various suppliers. That may explain why many American cars today are nearly as reliable as Asian imports.
