    I will second Sea Foam.
I have seen it in action on a cruise with our local Thunderbird club.
A 1964 wouldn't start after a short stop. Somebody dumped less than 1/2 a can of Sea Foam in and it started and ran fine again.
I use it in all my small engines and the T-bird and the pickup. Anything that does some time sitting and not in use everyday.

I try to go to original sources, when available. Sometimes, they are less expensive.
      What's in those additives, anyway?

Forgive my lack of understanding ....

It sounds to me as if SeaFoam is claiming to be jack of all trades; master of .... ?

I would feel more comfortable using special purpose products for such applications. But that's me and my limited experience.

When my ‘05 bird started running rough I took it to my favorite mechanic. He drove and told be just to put in a dose of Techron and it would be fine. He was right. He later told me that I should consider a using Techron once a year or so just to keep things good with whatever fuel I’m using. All I can say is that Techron works for me.
