  • They're out to get me.

A couple weeks ago, while waiting for a parking space in the local mall, a woman decided to back out of her handicapped parking space. That would have been fine, had I not been parked behind her.

    Crumple.

She got the passenger door pretty good. We exchanged info, I called in the claim and decided to go through her insurance rather than go through mine, pay the $1000 deductible and wait for reimbursement from hers.

Picked a reputable body shop, got the estimate ($2200) and scheduled to drop the Bird off this past Monday.

They were able to fix her up better than new (when I bought the car from NC, it had a very small ripple along the edge of the rear passenger wheel well) and I only paid $200 for the ripple fix. They even ordered replacement chrome from Thunderbird Concepts (Thanks for your assistance Aaron!).

    Happy camper here.

Fenner, glad you were able to get the bird repaired to your satisfaction. Glad to see you are driving that NC tbird.

I feel your pain. I just went through something similar. I wasn't there, and no note. However, I had a happy ending also, and it cost me nothing, because the damage was really superficial.

Hmmm... did you say $1,000 deductible???

yeah. Was $500 deductable, but I'm currently unemployed and trying to save where I can. I figure the way I baby the car, its not likely to need too much, plus I extended the warranty, so must things are covered.
