Just had ceramic brake pads put on the fronts. Hopefully, that will help reduce the brake dust problem . I am getting tired of cleaning the whitewalls and wheels after driving every few days. If this works I'll have the rears replaced. Although, the rear tires and wheels don't get as dirty as the fronts.

Re: BRAKE DUST, FREE?
At 13,000 miles the front ford pads had worn out. I installed new NAPA pads and new NAPA rotors. But they made a lot of noise.
I retunred the pads in exchange for Ceramic.
The noise is gone and the cars stops OK. The bake dust is minimal.
The mileage is at 37,000 and the brakes look great, checked them last week.

Re: BRAKE DUST, FREE?
Is it a big job to replace the brake pads yourself!! I am constantly cleaning my wheels of brake dust.. I will be going down to Arizona for 2 or 3 months this winter and I could pick up new brake pads for my 02 Bird at that time.
Where is the best place to purchase these??? How much are they at Rockauto??
I have the same problem on my motorcycle.....lots of brake dust.
Have a great summer!!

Jim, It's not that hard if you have the tools to work with. Follow this link to see how it's done.

Re: BRAKE DUST, FREE?
Thanks Spence!
I currently have about 10,000 miles on our 02 T-Bird so I shouldn't have to do the job quite yet, but I will check the pads for wear and see how soon I can get some new ceramic pads on and stop that brake dust problem. Your explanation is great and the pictures sure would help. I may just have to save this info and refer to it later on.
Thanks!
Jim
