Was scouting around on EBay and found this treasure. Apparantly somebody decided on this homemade solution to place either foam or felt around the edges of the top where it meets the body to prevent flex scratch ...

As long as the foam is attached to car deck and not to the hardtop it helps. Otherwise dirt and sand will still get between and scratch the deck.

Words of wisdom from Dot worth repeating for newcomers: Put a blanket or rug on the trunk BEFORE you grab ahold of the hardtop (whether you're installing or removing it). Thanks, Dot.
