    Re: T-Bird Speeding Tickets

No speeding tickets here in 87,000+ miles in the Bird, but a lot of close calls. The only ticket in the Bird is for no front license plate, one in seven+ years.

Cop - "I could write you up you know, but I'll just let you off with a warning for now." I asked, "Write me up for WHAT?" His answer..."You need a new muffler."
      A$$wipe.
Hey, next time ANYONE gets pulled over for a "loud muffler", politely ask the officer when was the last time they ticketed a Harley rider with No Mufflers?

My wife got a $250.00 ticket. She didn't want to talk about it. Cops don't like white Birds.

I said something to Julie about getting Martha to take our picture but she hit me LOL I ask her when was the last time she was in a police car she said NEVER!!! It was fun to look back on it. Not the best way to end Heartland Thunder.

None in my 02 but did have one in my 84, one in my 87 and one in my 90. All in southern states. Now the Judge did get one in the 02 a few years back on her way to work.

I got one in My Merlot last Spring. 99 in a 60. Nebraska is one of those
states which will not lock you up for speeding. Thank god! Fine was
$300 plus about $50 for court costs.

This plate has saved me many a time. Most police are pro military.
I've had them come up behind me while speeding
and when I slow down they just go around.
I actually had one writing a ticket and when he went to the back of my truck and brushed the snow off my bumper to get my plate number came back and told me to just slow down and be careful.
The plate is a one time only charge of $10.00, best 10 spot I ever spent!

John, when I got my ticket it was the day I put my VN tags on - it didn't help.

No speeding ticket yet with my bird. The last speeding ticket I got was back in 1979 on a 75 Triumph motorcycle doing 84 in a 30 mile an hour zone in town. They let me off with 50 in a 30 even though it was several blocks away and alot of right and left turns trying not to get the ticket.

Believe it or not, none for me while driving the T-bird (knock on wood)! I rely on a good radar detector, keeping an eye out and have being a little bit lucky.

I'm not sure what saved Bill and I on I-40 on the way to Battleship Thunder. There was a highway patrolman so low in the median that I didn't see him and the radar detector didn't go off until we were right on him. We were doing 80 or a little more. Just knew he would be after us, but after watching out the rearview mirror every other second for a few miles, he did not show up. I was glad when that "you're hosed now" feeling finally left my stomach.

Cops in N.H. seem to like red birds. No ticket yet. But, they gave me speeding tickets twice while driving my Ranger. Both times I was going five miles under the posted limit. I guess it just looks fast or they had a quota to fill.
