  • CHECK SPARE TIRE

I read in one of the posts that you should check the pressure in the spare every so often. Well, to my surprise today the spare only had 14lbs. instead of the required 60.
That's the reason I love this site. I probably would have never checked the pressure otherwise. Thanks for the info.

      Good point!

I have never checked mine in 4 years of ownership, better do so today! Especially in-so-much as we are heading to Chattanooga for Choo Choo Thunder in about 4 weeks and that is a 660 mile trip....one way.

          60???

Sixty pounds is what Ford recommends for the spare? If true, wow. I had mine set to 32 - I'm quite a bit light there...

Yep 60 lbs. says so right on the sidewall of the spare tire. Not the sticker on the driver's door or door post.

              Re: CHECK SPARE TIRE

The great thing about the local Ford dealer that services by 05 is that when they rotate the tires, they also pull out the spare and check the air pressure.

Whew...mine was done to about 20-30 pounds, it took the little Black & Decker air pump a while to bring it up to 60lbs.

                Thank you,
