    Re: Wixom Plant sold

Yep, I sure do Rick ...

And I remember walking the dark abandoned Thunderbird Only Line Which Was Discontinued in 2003. Do You Remember That Dot?

I Wonder What Happened to the Large Framed Poster of the 02 Torch Red With Hardtop That All the Wixom Employees Signed?

Skip, Your right, that was a torch red on the roof and from my understanding was just a shell. I'll have to see if I can find out what happened to those cars after coming off the roof.
Rick, That was a fun day being in the room with all the GT's and actually being able to sit in one. Thats the closest I'll ever be to having a ride.
Karen, We still treasure the times you and Gene visited Michigan and when we were named the official godparents of
03 007. Being able to follow its birth and take photos was a special time and I'm glad we could do it for you. All that was just the start of a great friendship.
Gord, We were there also for the unvailing of the Cashmere, it was a fun day and quite a celebration with all the old models around it. Our hopes are like yours to one day see it reserected.

Joanne, Remember the fun times we had cruising in YLO BRD during that trip?

I was thinking about how much fun we had and telling a friend about that anal retentive woman at the Henry Ford Museum who ordered the "rift-raff" out ...

And then we went by later on our way out and 2 security officers were posted at the entrance!

          Re: Wixom Plant sold

I drove by the Wixom Plant today on my way to a customer. All you could see was a sea of Ford Pick Up Trucks and a few transporters.

Apparently that sale never reached a conclusion as this article just surfaced about Ford's current plans for Wixom and a tax break:

Fond memories remain of my drive to Dearborn to take the Wixon tour...they had started building the '03s at that time.

I am not sure in this forum that a return to a 4 seater is something to joke about ...

In the style of the 1961-'63 4-seaters (which inspired potions of our cars). A low car w/sleek tapered to the rear styling would look great.
