That is very cool. Is that driftwood he carved it from? Did he do it from memory, or did he have a model? I ask because it has a lot of detail, like the air vent and chevron in the front 1/4 panel, and other design cues only Bird lovers would know.

Thanks, Folks ... I love it. He has been a good friend and colleague for years but this was an unexpected surprise.

Dot, Yes there is a small outline of a driver which is hard to pic up in the driver. He said he tried to make him out to be a middle age pudgy guy in his 40s with Ray Bans ...

Here is a pic of a monkey reading a monograph which is/was a private joke that he gave me for Christmas some years ago. We had a patron we called the Monkey Man because he ate a banana in the library against the rules at lunch and then would leave the peel on the floor for me to have to pick up. That is only part of the story and I will leave it at that ...

"Here's my gallery from the woodworking group I belong to. Doesn't have everything. A lot of what I have given away wasn't photographed (at least not with a digital camera, I guess I need to scan some of the older pics).
