Missing belt for top stand

Hello,

Can anyone help; Was there a securing-belt included on the hard-top stand for all four model years? If so, what is the Ford part number? Any body know?

My 05 Cashmere does not have a belt, I bought my car new and have never had the belt. Seems to me there should have been one. If I was supposed to have one with my 05, it was missing upon delivery.

Check out Dot's site. I believe the belt was discontinued after the first year.

I think there's a thread here where that was discussed. The belt seemed to be fairly useless and some complained of it marring the paint on their hardtop during storage. I think the consensus here is that it disappeared sometime during the 2004 years for the carts.

There was no belt included on the '05's...this I know for sure.

Here's a couple of early threads about the straps. It did disappear sometime during the 2004 year but there is one 2005 owner that reports having the straps on his cart.

I have used the straps on my hard top since new with no paint damage.

I had the strap on a top I bought from a 2003, but it was not on my 2004.

Rosebud was build in Sept 03 (2004 model) and don’t have a belt.

You can buy, very similar straps in Home Depot stores.
