Is you Tbird stock, or what mods did you do?

How did the car feel at those speeds? Stable, wobbly? Well planted, or did it float?

At what speed did the car feel safe, vice handling a bit scary?

Did you have any more power to go faster when you topped out, or did you hit the limiter?

    Thanks!
My car is stock Dave, no mods to the performance of the engine.

About if it feels safe I think it is also relevant if one is used driving at high speeds. Since I am used driving German Autobahn from when I had my license and at constant speeds above 130Mph for many hours with various cars I guess it's also different for me. It does not make me a better driver in any way, but it made it more easy for me to trust on a cars technique (tires, brakes, engine). In the end that is what makes you feel safe.

I have to say at high speeds the Bird does not make me feel as safe as I used to feel in a Merc or a BMW. Not because of the engine but mostly because the car intents to start floating and feel light up the front above 130Mph. Because of that I don't think I would be able to keep it under control if a sudden manouvre is required.

Besides that I can't help thinking what happens when it flips over at that speed. One might think that won't happen, but let's not forget on the Autobahn anything can suddenly happen. With 130Mph I am certainly not the fast one. One should not be surprised when suddenly another car approaches you at a speed almost twice yours.

I did not had the limiter set in this time, but I am sure it will do so close to reaching 140Mph. I had it set in once at 145/150, but I am not sure about the exact speed. It gives me a cick driving any car at high speed, but I can assure you it's more fun driving this car at cruise speeds. It's what it is build for.

Good observation. Our TBirds are unique anywhere in the world.

Frits, do you notice any lookers?
