Re: Men, convertible drivers at higher risk for hearing loss
Driving a convertible for long periods of time may put you at risk for hearing loss, a study said.

You can compensate for low frequency wind buffeting by turning the stereo up and listening to especially heavy bass riffs. Frequencies are cancelled between your left and right ears. Jaco Pastouri would be a good example.

Try riding motorcycles for 30+ years and see if you can here good.
I think the worst hearing loss that I suffered is from the rock concerts through the years.

AC\DC I even shaked hands with Brian Johnson while he was singing on stage this time seeing them.
And STYX which I have seen a dozen times but are right up there with Aerosmith as stage preformers. I have several of Tommy shows quitar picks and even have one from Chuck which only plays once in a blue moon with them and only for one song.
Yes, we were that close to them. Kathy makes sure we are up front for the concerts. And yes, can't here anything but ringing for a few days later...

OMG don't let the NTSB hear about this or that will be on the next agenda to have something outlawed. Or they will say we will have to wear ear protectors or helmets.

Re: Men, convertible drivers at higher risk for hearing loss
I've been driving convertibles since 1955. My wife will verify that I don't have a hearing problem...she says it's a listening problem!!!Please Note.. Any spelling and/or grammer mistakes are copyright of the author.. Mistakes will be numerous and common...

I think my wife would agree with yours on the hearing problem. I've driving them since 1960 and I think I can still hear pretty good. I just don't listen good.

What about the flightline with a group of F-4's winding up? Or a Harrier coming in vertically? Or the drag strip?"Probably good enough, isn't"
