  • Paint Question: Desert Sky Blue

Anyone else with a Desert Sky Blue bird told the color was no longer available at their dealer?

Purchasing a 2003 bird -- had to buy a new Thunderbird script emblem - and was going to get some paint to have....says it is no longer available.

Anyone else experience this (before I call around to every dealer in the northest?!)?

          Kathleen,
It is also available from here...

The paint code is CZ and it is actually called Robins Egg Blue Mettalic. I've been buying most of the T-Bird colors from these guys to repaint diecast cars and the colors are an exact match.

          Good luck!

Folks, the original name of the color war Robin's Egg Blue. However it was changed at the last moment by Ford Marketing. When I was 1st researching my car there was literature with it called Robin’s Egg Blue, of course back then I had no idea what I was really buying and didn’t grab a copy. I do however have a bottle of touchup paint that I bought from Ford shortly after I bought the car which is labeled Robin’s Egg Blue.

Hi Kathleen, I see you already got lots of answers that helped you out.
If they do not you can always have the car repainted to Evening Black. It might not look as good as Desert Sky Blue but it becomes a lot faster. Not exactly know why, but it does

Kathleen, If you are considering purchasing more than just enough for touch-up, you may want to wait until you need it. Once opened I don't know if the shelf life is very long.Bob

I never responded to this (thought I had). Thanks -- I think that is a great idea.
