  • Cruise Control not working...Help!

    Wow this site is great...!

Got another problem with my UK Bird......!

    Cruise control doesn't work......
    Checked the brake pedal switch,
    and reset the PCM .
No error codes reported. Took the airbay off and looked at the switch and appears ok, even switched it to the other side (radio controls) and the on button works as proved by it operating the radio.
Checked all fuses and all are good...
    Any ideas?

Can you guys let me know when the cruise light on the dash illuminates?

Have done a bulb test and it switches on during this test, but never switches on with ignition switch-on. Does the light come on when the vehicle is stationary by pressing the on button on the wheel? Does the car have to be in drive or does it come on in park a neutral. Obviously the speed hold will not work unless the car is moving (over 30MPH) but I can't even get the indicator to come on...

    Thanks guys...!

Is it turned on? Check on-off switch. Leroy

      Just went out & checked.
Light does not come on for any scenario when car is stationary.

Didn't check in motion {2 cars blocking the Bird} but I believe it would not come on until 30MPH.

I think the manual say’s 35mpn for the cruse to come on. Mine will come on at 31 mph but a slight grade it goes off.

Must turn on cruise with the manual switch located under side of left steering wheel spoke. The switch in the on position does not turn on the cruise control indicator on the dash until a speed is selected using the increase speed '+' symbol push button on the thumb tab switches that control the cruise control. The light goes off whenever the speed '-' symbol is pushed or when the 'cancel' button is selected or when the brake pedal is depressed. The light will go back on when 'resume' or '+' is selected.

Cruise will turn off whenever the ignition is turned off and MUST be turned back on with the manual cruise ON switch, which like I pointed, out is on the underside near the left spoke of the steering wheel.

I doubt that theare is anything wrong with your cruyise control. I think you just forgot about the manual off/on switch.
