    Re: A little help please!

    Thank you very much Guys!
All is clear and thank you very much Mike for the detail. I have spoken to a Ford tech who tells me the only sure way to check the switch is to replace it as even one that looks good might not work, hence the PCM giving no fault codes also.

Damn difficult thing to fault find, especially as you have to be moving at >35MPH to make it work, the other problem being the light on the dash not coming on with ignition test.

Holding the trip reset while switching on the ignition to enter the test mode proved the bulb during the test routine.

I'll post and let you all know the outcome once a new switch is fitted.

Many many Thanks again for all you're input...

    David

      Mike,

read your post again....make me laugh out loud the vision of someone trying to engage cruise at 35mph in reverse...;-)))

While I was in the groove with the Ford IDS ( my friend prepares police vehicles for Ford here in the UK so they have all the toys!!) I switched off speed limiter also.....I'll let you know......lucky it has been fitted with pilot sport 2 tyres..!!

Now I need to switch off all the bloody chimes.....it must drive you all mad.

      Good day to you all......

        Re: A little help please!

We have an '03 Bird that we picked up last year. Put over 10k kilometers on it since and have yet to use the 'cruise control'. Too much fun driving it with my foot on the pedal. Better check it out one day.
BTW David, have not detected any 'cockney' accent in any of your posts.
