  • A “Plug” for Plugs

Ah yes… the lowly, black rubber # 378770 plug. Unloved, forgotten… un til you !%@!#%^@! need one for a car show.

Just when you’re doing last-minute underhood detailing… the mental sledgehammer smacks you in the forehead! I have a 1.5” access hole in my right inner fender wide open! It’s an abyss large enough to swallow a small, first place trophy, too. Why have I NEVER noticed it before????
    See attached picture.

Somehow, when Cashmere was built, they plugged the left inner fender access hole with the preverbial plug. But… coffee break! No one’s there to plug the right holewith a #378770 as Cashmere rolled down the line.

It was too late to buy one, but luckily… the judges allowed the hoods to remain closed for the judging.

Next day, I went out and bought up every hard-to-find #378770 at a less-than-local Ford dealer and now, my offer to you:
Look inside your hood, if, and only if, you have a gaping 1.5” “gaping hole” on either inner fender, request a free #378770. The first person to do so will receive a free #378770 plug mailed to their house (see attachment for picture of hole and plug).

It’s a quick thank you for the help this forum has provided me.
    Thanks!

Be sure to keep these clean for car shows...I caught Chuck on this one a couple of years ago!

Now that is another advantage of owning a Black Bird. A hole as black as that would not even be noticed

Thanks for the tip. Mine was just totaled and I went down to the yard and removed mine. It is still mine!
